Description
George Steinberger (1865-1904) lived a relatively brief life, but during those few years he learned much about following the Lamb, as the reader will discover. The author suffered much, in his walk with Christ. However, in the midst of many difficulties, he experienced God’s teaching and sustaining grace. Steinberger lived by the truth of 1 Peter 5:10: “But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.”
While this is a small volume, it is packed with heavenly truth, written by a master of the devotional life. In order to profit most from this Christian classic, it should be read slowly and prayerfully, allowing the Spirit of God to penetrate one’s heart with the clarion call to authentic Christian discipleship.
As Christians, we are exhorted to “imitate the faith” of those worthies who have gone before us (Heb. 13:8). The faith and teaching of George Steinberger is worth imitating, for he challenges us to “follow the Lamb wherever He goes” (Rev. 14:4).
